Once again, education and sustainability go hand in hand. The EduDemoS Project was present during the Smart Green Island Makeathon held between March 12 and 15. This event, which brought together almost 1000 participants from 37 countries, had a special space where the project could shine with about 100 students who got down to work creating several of the demonstrator models using solar and wind energy.
The students who participated in the workshop belong to the levels of Compulsory Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training of the cycles of Microcomputer Systems and Networks, Access and Conservation in sports facilities, Telecommunications Facilities, Electricity and Electronics. A total of seven centers were present: the high schools Ana Luisa Benítez, Poeta Tomás Morales Castellano, Feria del Atlántico, Siete Palmas, Profesor Antonio Cabrera Pérez and Colegio Alemán.
In keeping with the EduDemoS spirit, the sustainability fair once again demonstrated that renewable energy education is most effective with empirical work, where theoretical knowledge is put into practice with physical work carried out by the students themselves .
Thus, by combining the participants' knowledge of digitalization and technologies, together with the methodological guides of the EduDemoS Project and the teachers who are involved in innovative teaching models, it is once again demonstrated that the green future needs the eyes of the youngest for the ultimate goal: a green and sustainable world.
