Our educational and innovative project, EduDeMoS, has held its first transnational meeting at the Smart Green Island Makeathon 2024. Smart Green Island Makeathon 2024. The festival brought together partners from the five organizations that have participated in the development of the initiative: the Gerda Stetter Foundation, Germany; the Sergio Alonso Foundation and IES El Rincón, Spain; the Finnovaregio Foundation, Belgium; and the GBS St. Gallen Institute, Switzerland.

As part of the Makeathon 2024, Rhein Waal University held on Tuesday, February 27, a workshop on the IoT (Internet of Things) platform, based on the adaptation and integration of the demonstrators in this system through electronic components. The workshop took place in the NEXO building of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and was attended by students of Industrial Design Engineering and Product Development of the ULPGC, accompanied by students from IES El Rincón and GBS St. Gallen.
From this point on, our project will be carried out in two phases: a development phase, which will take place between April and July of this year; and a testing and verification phase, also scheduled for July to September.

The Smart Green Island Makeathon innovation festival was also the stage on which we tested one of the EduDemoS sustainable demonstrators for the first time. During the event, participating students were able to test the model developed by students from the Technical University of Applied Sciences Kempten and Würzburg-Schweinfurt in collaboration with the ITQ group. Among the models proposed in our project, this demonstrator is of solar type and has been designed with the ability to track the position of the sun at any time.

This prototype is added to the proposals of demonstrators that have been developed by the students of the Degree in Industrial Design Engineering of the ULPGC. Specifically, 7 teams of students have already presented their creative ideas around the 3 proposed renewable energies: water, sun and air. A joint work that has materialized the active collaboration between the entities that promote our project and that is part of the mission of EduDeMoS.
